Job Fair Candidate Information & Eligibility

Important Dates:
Sunday, March 2, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. - Candidate registration for pre-scheduled interviews begins
Monday, March 17, 2008 at Noon - Candidate registration for pre-scheduled interviews concludes

Schedule for the Day:
8:30 - 9:30 a.m. - Open Fair
9:30 - 11:50 - Scheduled Interviews
11:55 - 12:45 - Lunch Break
12:45 - 4:25 - Scheduled Interviews


Employer Interview Options:
School districts who register to attend Education Expo have the option of pre-scheduling interviews or setting up all interviews on the day of the event during the Open Fair. For those school districts who do want to pre-schedule interviews, candidates who meet the eligibility criteria listed below will have the opportunity to pre-schedule interviews on-line.

Eligibility to Pre-schedule Interviews:
Students who meet ALL of the following criteria are eligible to pre-schedule interviews for Education Expo:

  1. Must have taken at least one class at one of the sponsoring colleges/universities during the 2007-2008 academic year (September 2007 - August 2008)
  2. Must plan on receiving a new licensure during the 2007-2008 academic year (September 2007 - August 2008)
  3. Must be eligible to accept new employment for the 2008-2009 academic year

If you do not meet one or more of the criteria listed above, then you are not able to register for pre-scheduled interviews. If you are a graduate of one of the sponsoring colleges/universities, then you are able to attend the Open Fair held on the morning of the Job Fair from 8:30 - 9:30 a.m. and can talk to school districts to gain interviews later in the day.

Instructions to Register Your E-mail Prior to Pre-scheduled Interview Registration Period:

  1. Ensure you meet ALL of the eligibility criteria listed above. All candidates who pre-schedule interviews will be verified by their college/university career services staff. Anyone not meeting the criteria will be eliminated as a candidate.
  2. You must use your school e-mail address to register for Education Expo and all e-mail correspondences will be sent to your school e-mail account. If you graduated/completed your program after August 2007, but do not have a current a e-mail account from your school, you will need to be approved.   Please note that the process for approval can take up to 2 business days, so you should register your non-school e-mail address well in advance of the date when pre-scheduled interview registration begins. (Those who graduated/completed their program prior to September 2007, are not eligible to pre-schedule interviews, but are able to attend the Open Fair.)
  3. Review and follow the Instructions to Register Your E-mail prior to the interview pre-registration process.
  4. Have a professional resume ready to upload in MS Word or PDF format. Other formats will not be accepted.
  5. Review the List of School Districts who will be attending to determine if the school districts you are interested in interviewing with are pre-scheduling interviews and if those districts are seeking your licensure area. Only candidates with the exact licensure areas asked for by the school district will be eligible to pre-schedule an interview with that district. You will be able to pre-schedule up to 5 (five) interviews during the pre-scheduling process. Additional interviews can be secured at the Open Fair on the day of the job fair.

Instructions to Pre-schedule Interviews:

  1. When the Pre-scheduled Interview Registration period begins, follow the directions listed under Instructions to Pre-schedule Interviews . Interviews are assigned on a first-come first served basis.
  2. School districts will continue to register, so check the list of participants often to determine if a school district you may wish to interview with has recently registered.

Education Expo Policies for Pre-scheduling Interviews:

  1. You may make changes to your schedule as you would like during the Pre-scheduled Interview Registration period, but changes after the Registration period ends on March 17th are NOT permitted.
  2. Once the Pre-scheduled Interview Registration period is over, you will be sent your final Education Expo and further instructions for the day.
  3. By registering for Education Expo, you are committing to attend the event and every interview that you have scheduled. Cancellations are NOT permitted.

E-mail will be the method of contact for any changes or updates regarding Education Expo, so be sure to check your e-mail regularly.
