Welcome to the Dwight Schar College of Education:

As the new Dean of the Dwight Schar College of Education, I am honored to serve the college and university. We have a proud history of academic accomplishments in the college, which we will continue to build on in the ensuing years.

We are most fortunate to have a physical facility that has the state of the art technology and classroom resources. Our faculty members and staff are dedicated to providing a positive learning environment by targeting instructional delivery strategies and services to meet the various learning styles of the students.

The Dwight Schar College of Education is a comprehensive college having more than 30 licensure programs and 20 majors, and offers bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. Our students stand among the top achievers in the state, having an average passage rate on the state mandated Praxis series test of 95 to 97 percent.

The College has more than 65 full-time faculty members with the majority having their doctoral degree. The academic programs are delivered at Ashland and through its other four centers in Cleveland, Columbus, Elyria and Massillon.
