“Open Friendship in a Closed Society: Mission Mississippi and a Theology of Friendship”

This lecture by Dr. Peter Slade of the Religion Department introduces his interdisciplinary research (history, sociology, ethnography and theology) into Mission Mississippi, the largest sustained ecumenical racial reconciliation initiative in America today. Slade’s book on faith based racial reconciliation in Mississippi was recently published by Oxford University Press.

This is a public lecture open to members of the community and the university.
