The University’s Coburn Art Gallery, the Center for Community Service and the Art Club are sponsoring “Fight Hunger with Art,” a silent art auction to be held Feb. 10-27 in the Coburn Gallery on the Ashland University campus. All proceeds from the silent auction will benefit the Ashland County Food Bank.
An opening reception for the silent art auction will be held Feb. 10 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the Coburn Gallery. This event will include an appetizer reception and allow those in attendance to view the donated artworks created by Ashland University faculty and students, campus and community organizations, and local artists as well as local student artists.
Those attending the auction during the period between Feb. 10 and Feb. 27 can bid on the artwork and the highest bidder over the duration of the auction will win the artwork. The highest bid for each artwork will be posted on that item at the beginning of each day. Some of the artwork will be open to student bids only.
Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 12 noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Those with questions should contact Cynthia C. Petry, director of the Coburn Art Gallery, at 419.289.5652 or our web page for more information. The “Fight Hunger with Art” exhibition also will be open during the upcoming “Sunday in the Park with George” musical performances by the Ashland University Theatre Department.
