2011 Ashland University Juried Student Art Exhibition

The Ashland University Juried Student Art Exhibition opens Thursday, March 17, in the Coburn Gallery with a reception to be held from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. This exhibition will offer $1,300 in awards to student artists, including Best in Show, Everett S. Caldemeyer Award, Provost Award, People’s Choice Award and awards in each of the six art areas: painting, printmaking, sculpture, digital media, drawing and ceramics. The awards ceremony will begin at 5 p.m. This year, a total of 121 works were considered for inclusion in the exhibition. From the entries received, 73 works were chosen by juror Kate Shannon for the exhibition. You are cordially invited to attend the reception on Thursday March 17 from 4:30pm-6:30pm; awards will be announced at 5:00pm. 2nd Annual People’s Choice Award-voting form 4:30pm-5:30pm. Winner announced at 5:35pm.

The exhibition runs from March 17 to April 1. A generous donation from Charles Caldemeyer and the Provost Dr. Frank Pettigrew has allowed the University to offer several of these awards.
