Important Information

 

1.  The graduation fee is payment for your diploma, cap/gown and tassel which you may keep; and other graduation costs incurred by the University. 

Caps/gowns and tassels and tickets in case the ceremony is held indoors will be available from the main Bookstore beginning March 25, 2008. All regalia is keepsake and no deposit or return is required. All graduates picking up caps and gowns and tickets will need a picture I.D. If someone else is picking up your cap and gown they will need written permission from you. There is a $6.75 FedEx charge to have your cap and gown sent to your home or work. Extra tassels are $4. Custom printed announcements, AU diploma frames and AU commemorative rings are available at the AU Bookstore. Columbus graduates choosing to pick up caps and gowns at the Columbus Center must sign up with Toby Russell in the Columbus Center Bookstore prior to March 28. Gowns will be available beginning at the Columbus Grad Fair on Thursday, April 3, 2008, from 4 to 7 p.m.

Ashland University Bookstore hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays other than Commencement Day and 12 noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday. On Commencement Day, the Bookstore, located in the Hawkins-Conard Student Center, will be open from 8 a.m. until 3 p.m.

 

2.  All accounts with the Business Office, Library, Bookstore, Telecommunications and Dean of Students must be cleared by April 11, 2008. Final grades will not be reported and diplomas will be held for those students who have unmet financial obligations.

Graduates who had a Perkins Loan while attending Ashland University must complete an exit interview at www.signmyloan.com Perkins borrowers who do not fulfill this requirement will not receive their diplomas. Any questions regarding the Perkins Loan can be directed to the Business Office. Exit counseling is also required for students who received Stafford Loans. This requirement can be completed at www.ashland.edu/finaid.

 

3.  HONORS -- All honors presented at the Commencement are based upon total grade-point averages through December 2007 and include all other colleges attended.

4.  Undergraduate and graduate students will not be able to participate in commencement exercises until all coursework has been completed.

5. Students who need accommodations for a disability should contact the Registrars Office at (419) 289-5027 no later than April 25, 2008. Parking for individuals with disabilities will be available on College Avenue and in the Bixler Hall parking lot off King Road.

6. A Graduation Fair will be held in the Hawkins-Conard Student Center lobby on March 25 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Stop by the fair to pick up regalia, order announcements and meal tickets for graduation day, and get other items that graduates need.
