What is TECS?
T.E.C.S. stands for Technology Enhanced Classroom Support and is Information Technology's answer to Ashland University's growing need for individualized support for Ashland University full-time and part-time faculty members.
What does TECS do?
TECS students have been selected from within the I.T. department for their level of expertise and their dedication to improving the learning environment through technology. Each semester, the TECS program accepts project requests from Ashland University Faculty members wishing to integrate either new or emerging technologies into their class/curriculum. Each TECS student is assigned to a faculty member and helps them develop a project plan from which they will work during the semester. TECS also offers a wide variety of Hardware and Software training for a multitude of IT-supported technologies across campus.
In addition to faculty projects, TECS also operates a walk-in lab, currently located in Patterson Hall, Rooms 302 and 303. Their list of "walk-in" services can be found on our T.E.C.S. Services and Pricing.
How can I request a TECS project?
There are multiple ways of requesting a TECS project. You can stop by our Help Desk, or you can call / e-mail Steve Kaufman at ext. 5885, skaufman@ashland.edu. We can answer any questions that you may have and help you decide on how best to integrate technology into your course.
