Jessica Maloney

Jessica grew up in Cleveland, OH. She lived in Euclid until moving to Bowling Green, OH in 1996 to attend Bowling Green State University. There she received a BFA in Photography with a minor in Digital Art. In 2001, Jessica was accepted into the graduate program in Digital Art at Bowling Green State University. While in graduate school she spent a summer abroad in Florence, Italy through the SACI program during which time she studied sequence photography.

Jessica received her MFA in Digital Art in 2003 and shortly after moved to Tucson, AZ. While in Arizona she continued making and showing her work locally, nationally, and internationally. Jessica worked as a designer for a non-profit organization and taught an alternative photography class at the Tucson Museum of Art. In 2005, Jessica accepted a job as a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Digital Art at Ashland University in Ashland, OH, where she is still teaching today.

During 2007 Jessica took on a three year term as a Traveling Student Exhibition Curator for the international ACM/ Siggraph organization’s Education Committee. In 2008, she received an artist residency at the Santa Fe Art Institute Residency Program through which she spent two months in New Mexico.  Her work has been published in the book, Digital Art Revolution and a interview describing her views on art and education can be found in the online magazine, Art Digital.
