Dr. Gretchen Dworznik, Assistant Professor in Journalism & Digital Media, joined the Ashland University faculty in 2006. Before entering higher education, she spent eight years as a television reporter and anchor, working at TV-68 in Mansfield, Ohio, NBC24 in Toledo, Ohio, and WYTV in Youngstown, Ohio. Her primary research area is the effects of trauma on journalists, and her teaching areas include: broadcast reporting and writing, media writing, media effects, media criticism, studio production, and broadcast announcing. Dr. Dworznik received her B.A. from Ashland University, her M.A. in Mass Communication from The University of Akron, and her Ph.D. in Media Effects from Kent State University.
