Dr. Russell Craig, professor of Criminal Justice, came to Ashland University in 1985 for the purpose of creating a program and major in Criminal Justice and served as program director and department chair for the past 24 years. He recently left the administrative areas of the program to teach full time and continues to supervise the department’s internships. He earned an M. A. in sociology, specializing in criminal justice and an Ed. D. in educational and counseling psychology from the University of South Dakota. His area of expertise is corrections, correctional counseling, and criminology. He serves as a consultant for various regional criminal justice agencies and is coeditor of the Journal of Correctional Education.
