Gary Davis is principal trumpet with the Cleveland Pops Orchestra, principal trumpet with the Erie Philharmonic and a member of the Akron Symphony Orchestra trumpet section. He has also performed and recorded with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra and the Cincinnati Symphony/Pops. Other performance opportunities have been with the Cleveland Orchestra, the Blossom Festival Band, and the Wheeling Symphony. He also performs with the Metropolitan Brass Quintet. Mr. Davis has a bachelor degree in music education from the University of Akron, a master degree in trumpet performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and post-graduate studies at the Eastman School of Music. His teachers have included James Thompson, Michael Sachs, Eugene Blee, Phil Collins and Robert Dolwick. He has given clinics and master classes at area colleges and high schools in both trumpet and band. He teaches applied trumpet at The College of Wooster and Ashland University.
