Dr. Crystal Kaiser, Associate Professor of Early Childhood/Intervention Specialist, has just joined the Ashland University faculty this Fall, 2009. Her expertise and interests are in training graduate and undergraduate students to provide best practice, evidence-based, developmental and family support to infants and young children with a wide range of disabilities and severity levels. Dr. Kaiser is a national Past President of the Council for Exceptional Children's Division for Early Childhood and has lectured in Scandinavia, Micronesia, India, Nova Scotia and Puerto Rico. She is the author & producer of Young & Special, an internationally-translated & distributed teacher training program for preschool inclusion including 30 documentary television programs. Her doctorate is from the University of Washington (Seattle) and she has completed postdoctoral work at Harvard University in a national certification program for hospital neonatal intensive care unit developmental support. Her current research is on the use of early disability awareness children's literature for ages 4-8.
