Janet Rinehart joined the Ashland University College of Education in 2000 as a Professional Instructor and Field Supervisor. Professor Rinehart's areas of expertise include State Based Early Childhood Curriculum and Methods, Classroom Management, and ELL instruction in Early Childhood classrooms. Additionally she co-developed, coordinated, taught and supervised in a Study Abroad Program in Wittenberg, Germany. This program has included 91 Ashland University Student participants during its 5 years in existence. 60 of those students were Education majors who taught beginning English in a German Elementary school. Mrs. Rinehart has been awarded the Ashland University Academic Mentor Award 4 times (2003-2004, 2005-2006, 2007-2008, and 2007 -2008 years.) She has been nominated for the Taylor Teaching Award 2 times, and nominated for Outstanding Faculty Woman 3 times. She was a Fulbright Scholar to the Middle East in 1991. Mrs. Rinehart holds a B.S. in Education and a M.Ed. in Education from Ashland University and has completed additional post graduate work at University of Arizona and Bowling Green University.
