Dr. Javier Garcia, J.D., associate professor of economics, joined Ashland University in 1980. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Political Science from Ashland University, Masters of Arts from the University of Toledo in International Economics, and J.D. from the University of Akron with a concentration in International Law. Dr. Garcia has taught all level of economics from economic principles, macro and micro principles to labor economics, government and business, comparative economic systems, comparative cultural economic systems to international and global economics. In addition he has taught business law I and II, Conversation Spanish and MBA international global business management. He has chaired the economics department and has been the director of AUCIBS (Ashland University Center for International Business Services). Dr. Garcia has done consulting work for many corporations in different capacities and traveled intensively to other countries. His native country is Costa Rica.
