Jeffrey Russell

Dr. Russell joined Ashland University's Dauch College of Business and Economics faculty in 2000. He accepted the position of Dean of the Dauch College in 2010. Dr. Russell has taught courses in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Game Theory, and Money and Banking. Research interests include teaching with simulations, Game Theory and Behavioral Economics, as well as economic development in areas with a manufacturing tradition. Dr. Russell grew up in Northern California and earned a BS degree in Economics and International Relations from the University of California, Davis. A college course in tractor driving helped him obtain his first post-college job as a tour guide at Rodale’s Organic Farm in Allentown, PA. Dr. Russell returned to Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management to earn an MBA with concentrations in Finance and Accounting. He then worked for twelve years in commercial banking for a variety of banks in Chicago, Sacramento, and South Bend, Indiana, prior to returning to school in 1995 to pursue his Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Oregon.
