Dr. Louise Fleming, professor of education, has been on faculty at Ashland University since 1990. Her Ph.D. is from the University of Akron in Secondary Education with a concentration in History of Education. She teaches educational foundations courses, such as Contemporary Education, Curriculum Development, Educational Assessment, and Effective Instruction. Additionally, her interest is in environmental education. She has co-developed three environmental education courses for the M.Ed. program, and she regularly teaches an Inquiry Seminar entitled Place-Based Education. She volunteers for the Environmental Education Council of Ohio and the Ashland County Park District and enjoys leading teacher workshops and teaching children about nature. For the school year 2009-2010, she serves as Chairperson for the Department of Educational Foundations.
