Dr. William R. Cummins, associate professor of foreign languages, joined Ashland University in 1994. He specializes in Spanish Golden Age literature. In his research, he studies the sacramental plays of the 17th century Spanish playwright Pedro Calderón de la Barca. He advises the Gamma Tau chapter of Phi Sigma Iota International Foreign Language Honor Society and Spanish Club. He has a bachelor of arts degree in Spanish from Washington State University and a Ph.D. in Spanish language and literature from the State University of New York at Albany.
