Jacqueline Owens

Jacqueline Owens, PhD, RN, COHN-S is an Assistant Professor of Nursing and Director of the RN to BSN Track at Ashland University; Ashland, OH. She is Associate Editor for OJIN: The Online Journal of Issues in Nursing. She received a diploma in nursing from Trumbull Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Warren, OH; a BSN from Ashland University; and an MSN and PhD in nursing from Kent State University in Kent, OH.

Jackie’s clinical nursing experience includes critical care and occupational health. Her dissertation topic of interest was disaster response nursing. She has volunteered on a local Community Emergency Response Team and has taken and taught classes in disaster response nursing. Other areas of interest include health literacy, online course design and delivery, nursing recruitment and elementary aged children; mentoring; electronic resources, publication, and information management. Jackie has co authored articles on online educational strategies, mentoring, and eye injuries, and served as a peer reviewer.
