What’s the difference between Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans?
Subsidized means that the federal government pays the interest while the student is enrolled half-time. Interest accrues on Unsubsidized Loans while the student is in school and can be paid or added to the principal. To find information on paying your interest while in school, contact your loan servicer.
