Question:
How do I setup email on my Android phone?
Due to variations in Android software, some devices work better with Corporate Sync while others work better with the setup through the GMail application. The difference you would see between both methods would be that your contacts will not sync. Below you will find ways to setup both methods of email synchronization.
Method #1 - Corporate Sync
- 1. Click on the “Settings” icon.
- 2. Click on “Accounts” option.
- 3. Click on “Add Account”.
- 4. Click on “Corporate Sync”.
- 5. Fill in the following information:
- Email Adress: Entire Ashland University E-mail
- Password: Ashland University Gmail Password
- Domain: m.google.com
- Username: Entire Ashland University E-mail
- 6. Click on the “Next” Button.
- 7. You will see the screen “Adding your Corporate Sync account”. This will error out.
- 8. Click on the “OK” Button.
- 9. Fill in the following information:
- Server: m.google.com
- Use a secure Connection (Keep the box checked)
- 10. Click on the “Next” Button.
- 11. You will see the screen “Adding your Corporate Sync account”. You will then receive the “Success!“ screen.
- 12. Click on the “Done” Button.
- 13. Click on the Corporate Sync account with your userid to change the sync settings.
- 14. Check (will sync) or Uncheck (will un-sync) your Calendar, Contacts and E-mail.
- 15. What you want to name the account.
- 16. How many days of E-mail to sync.
- 17. Will remove this account from your Android device.
- 18. Click on the “OK” Button to update your settings.

When asked, tap in your email address as yourusername@ashland.edu, where yourusername is your Ashland University username and put in your email password. Follow along with any other setup configurations that the program wants from you.
