Mission Statement
The mission of the field experience and internship program is to provide systematic and reality-based contacts between teacher education students and the tasks and experiences involved in PreK-12 classrooms for the purpose of:
- Creating awareness of differences in teaching at various levels
and with diverse populations.
- Finding ways to apply the theories, research, and methods learned
in professional education courses.
- Undergoing the test of actual experience in the field of study
while developing teaching practices that individual interns
can use when they have their own classrooms.
- Screening out individuals who are not capable of performing successfully in a classroom.
