How to Apply for Undergraduate Financial Aid
Step by Step for Returning Students
Currently enrolled students must reapply for financial aid
each year. Renewal applications are processed on a first-come,
first-served basis, with priority given to those applications submitted
by March 15. To reapply, please complete the following
steps:
- Complete the AU Financial Aid Application online in February. (Must be filed to apply for the Ohio Choice Grant or any need-based aid including student loans.)
- Make every effort to complete federal tax returns (you and your parents) in February. This will allow you to complete your FAFSA with actual tax information by the AU priority date of March 15. If you must estimate income on the FAFSA, send signed copies of the tax returns (pages 1 & 2 only) to the Financial Aid Office.
- Complete the Renewal FAFSA on the Web online at www.fafsa.ed.gov by March 15 and use the AU Title IV code -- 003012 -- to have your Student Aid Report sent electronically to Ashland University. The FAFSA may be completed and submitted on or after January 1 for the following academic year.
- Check AU email account in early June for notification
that your Financial Aid Award is available to view on AU WebAdvisor.
