PALS Response Form

The PALS Program was initiated in 2004 to assist Ashland University in achieving its admission goals.

Parents, alumni and students are in a unique position. As members of the university family, they have first-hand knowledge of the Ashland University experience and can personalize the benefits as described in literature.

Through contact with PAL members, prospective students and their parents gain another personal perspective of Ashland University and hopefully desire to pursue Ashland University more seriously. PALS activities are designed to be simple, involve limited time, yet be effective.

Time commitment varies from a few minutes a month to a few hours a year. Please read through the list of activities highlighted in on this webpage. If interested, complete the PALS Membership Application.

MAKING REFERRALS

History shows sending referrals is the most important activity a PALS member can do. When interacting with college-bound family members, friends and acquaintances, ask about their future plans. Share your experiences and ask if the student would like to receive information from Ashland University. To send a referral, click on:

WRITING LETTERS

Some PALS members write congratulatory letters to accepted students from their area. If you are chosen to be a PALS writer, you will receive the names and addresses of accepted, local students from the Office of Admission. You would then send a note on your personal stationary or professional letterhead to each student. It is reassuring to an accepted student to know there is someone affiliated with Ashland University living in his or her area.

REPRESENTING Ashland University AT LOCAL RECRUITMENT EVENTS

There are rare times when important college nights cannot be covered by the admission staff. PALS members may be asked to represent Ashland University at these programs. This would involve being enthusiastic and sharing your Ashland experiences while distributing literature and encouraging students to consider Ashland University. Materials, a table cover and a small table display will be mailed to you before the program. Most programs begin at 7:00PM and conclude by 9:00PM.
