PBS & Strategies
This course is designed for both special education and regular education classroom teachers. The focus is preventing problem behaviors by being proactive and positive in your approach to classroom management/discipline. The course provides a general overview of Positive Behavioral Support theory and practice as compared to traditional discipline; specific preventative strategies to use in the classroom; practical and manageable behavioral data collection methods; utilizing reinforcement and consequences appropriately; and addressing behavioral skills deficits with strategies to teach positive and functional replacement behaviors. Students will have the opportunity to learn, reflect, collaborate and receive feedback.
