Young English Lang Lrn
This course is a 3-session module available to early childhood audiences across the state of Ohio. The content is aimed at preparing for pre-service and in-service level early childhood educators who can be better prepared to address the needs of English Language Learners (ELL's). These efforts are targeted for educators and administrators of preschool-age children as well as those in K-12. Early childhood audiences are becoming more sensitive to the cultural backgrounds of children and their families and the importance of implementing culturally responsive pedagogies. With more ELLs entering their classrooms, they seek guidance as to how best to educate children from homes in which a language other than English is spoken and to prepare these ELLs for their transition into kindergarten or elementary school. these sessions are representative of Ohio's efforts to educate early childhood educators, administrators and other stakeholders about meeting the needs of English Language Learners.
