Spanish Language Immersion Program
The Department of Foreign Languages coordinates a study abroad program for intensive Spanish language study (SPAN 200 and SPAN 300) that is specifically designed to provide students with an immersion experience. Students receive four hours of language instruction per day at Conversa Language Center in Santa Ana, Costa Rica. For additional cultural experiences, students live with Costa Rican families and have the option of participating in excursions. Most programs are for four weeks, earning six hours of credit. Education majors may participate in a two-week field experience following their intensive language program. Program Coordinator: Dr. Schmidt-Rinehart, bschmidt@ashland.edu.
