About the Curriculum
Curriculum Requirements
Students must complete a minimum of 36 credit hours above the MBA 500 level to meet their curriculum requirements. A maximum of 18 credit hours may be comprised of elective courses such as other seminars, special topics/specialization courses, or an independent research project. Complete information and guidelines for these options are found under “Phase III” and “Independent Research Project Option” in the Graduate Catalog. A Phase IV capstone course (MBA 517) is also required.
The curriculum offers opportunities for supervised in-company research on specific problems and encourages the exchange of ideas, insights and information among participants. Studies may also include seminars with guest speakers from government, business, and academia.
Program Structure
Ashland University offers students the Master of Business Administration course work in five program centers across the state. Classes meet in the evenings, on alternate Saturdays or in an online hybrid model, which permits students to learn without interrupting their normal working schedules. By completing two courses each semester, students may earn their degree after two years of study.
In addition, Ashland University provides MBA foundational course work for non-business degree holders and international students. More information concerning this program is provided under courses and schedules.
