Earn a specialization in a specific area of business
PHASE III: ELECTIVES WITH OPTIONAL SPECIALIZATIONS (18 HOURS)
In addition to the broad coverage provided by the courses in the core, students may select from a wide range of elective offerings. Elective offerings include: MBA Seminars, Special Topics Courses, Specializations, and an Independent Research Project. A variety of seminars and special topics courses are offered, thus students may take several electives (up to a maximum of 18 credits). Electives may be taken in any order, once any prerequisites have been satisfied. As elective courses are developed, sequences of courses totaling nine hours can be labeled as “specializations” with the approval of the executive director and Graduate Business chair.
Current MBA Specializations
Because today's corporate setting is dynamic a student may also propose a customized specialization to better enhance their career. Students proposing a customized specialization should seek approval from a faculty mentor and chair of the MBA program by filling out the Request to Obtain MBA Specialization form.
