Helping our mission
Why do we need your financial support? Our children and grandchildren must develop basic economic and life skills to survive and thrive. Heres what they'll need:
As a consumer, purchase goods and services with the skills to evaluate the choices available and fairness of the price. That evaluation includes an awareness of the factors of production involved and the real total costs - including opportunity costs.
Make decisions related to needs vs. wants, priorities and the timing of purchasing: i.e., the impact of supply and demand on prices, and the pros and cons of buying now vs. waiting for market forces to change the price.
Understand and respect the fiscal and regulatory roles of the government in supporting the free enterprise system (competition, trade, natural resources, etc.), the financial markets, the money supply and social issues.
Understand the financial implications of civic choices and responsibilities with respect to income taxes and levies connected with schools, safety, libraries, parks etc.
As a saver, evaluate the best savings and investment choices given an individuals risk/return tolerances.
As a borrower, make judicious choices about the use of debt and its true cost.
As a productive member of society prepare the individual to plan and budget, make career choices, care for a family and achieve personal goals.
