Our Purpose:
The Graduate Writing Center (GWC) is an instructional service. Our purpose is not just to proofread
and/or edit student papers. We collaborate with students and suggest improvements for their writing.
The suggested improvements can touch on any area from structure and content to spelling, grammar, and
punctuation.
Furthermore, our purpose is to support Ashland University students with their writing tasks. Because of
the special needs of graduate students and the logistics of maintaining their work in academics, the GWC
can help students become reacquainted with academic writing and assist them as they work to achieve the
quality of writing required at a graduate level.
The GWC serves students who are enrolled in the following graduate programs, regardless of the
location of the AU campus where they attend classes:
- Master of Business Administration
- Master of Education
- Bachelor Plus (in course levels 500 and above)
- Master of American History and Government
- Master of Educational Administration
- Master of Fine Arts
- Doctor of Education
