ASHLAND
How to Reduce Expenses
  1. Work on campus: Many of our international students work in food services, and can earn an estimated $3,000 to $3,500 per year. Immigration allows students to work on campus for up to 20 hours per week during the fall and spring semesters, and full-time during the summer and Christmas breaks.
  2. If you are an undergraduate student, plan to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT); information is available through www.sat.org. Submitting a score could increase your chances for a scholarship. Please see this portion of the website for more information on our scholarships: http://www.ashland.edu/iss/undergrad-scholar.html.
  3. If you are a graduate student, or an undergraduate student over the age of 22, you can live off campus, and save an estimated $3,000 per year. There are affordable rooming houses within walking distance of the campus where you can live and cook for yourself.
  4. Study and live in Ashland, Ohio. Ashland, when compared with larger cities, has an overall lower cost of living. And don't forget that our crime rate is low, too.
