June, 2007--We've moved!
On June 11 2007,,
the Foreign Language Department moved to the newly-opened Center
for the Humanities in Bixler
Hall. The Center for the Humanities is now home
to the Departments of English, Philosophy, and Foreign Languages
in renovated office and classroom space. If you're on campus,
look for us on the second floor. The department office
is Bixler 217, phone 419 289-5353.

Names Valedictorian, Salutatorian, Graduate Honorees |

ASHLAND, Ohio -Residents
from opposite ends of the state were honored May 12 when Ashland
University named its valedictorian, salutatorian and Academic
Hall of Fame members during commencement exercises.

Emily Lowry was honored as class of 2007 valedictorian while
Strongsville resident Patricia Hepp was named salutatorian. |
Lowry graduated summa
cum laude, gamma alpha kappa with a bachelor of science in
education degree majoring in French. She
is the daughter of James and Kathleen Lowry of 5544 Foley
Road, Cincinnati.
AU's valedictorian
achieved a 3.991 grade point average. Lowry is a 2003 Oak
Hills High School graduate.
"I had a lot of support
from my family, friends and the faculty here at Ashland,"
Lowry said. "I feel like a lot of people invested their time
in my success."
Lowry plans to travel
and hopes to teach abroad. She is also exploring high school
teaching opportunities. During her academic career, she studied
abroad in Mexico, France and Costa Rica.
