Hand Press Books is a a catalog of European printing in the early modern era (from the 15th century  to the 1830s). HPBD is created by the Consortium of European Research Libraries, whose members represent national and university library in 25 countries. Some citations include copy specific information, including donor, previous owner, and more. This database supports research in intellectual history, social history, and transmission of thought, as well as in the history of printing and the history of the book.

The Handbook of Latin American Studies (Online) is a bibliography on Latin America consisting of works selected and annotated by scholars. Edited by the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress, the multidisciplinary Handbook alternates annually between the social sciences and the humanities. Each year, more than 130 academics from around the world choose over 5,000 works for inclusion in the Handbook. Continuously published since 1936, the Handbook offers Latin Americanists an essential guide to available resources. With the introduction of HLAS Online, the Handbook becomes available in three formats: the original print volumes, now published by the University of Texas Press; the CD-ROM produced and updated by the Fundación Histórica TAVERA (Madrid, Spain); and this Internet version. Updated weekly, HLAS Online provides rapid, comprehensive access to future, current, and retrospective volumes of the Handbook.

The Handbook of Latin American Studies (Web), a Library of Congress database, contains bibliographic records from volumes 50-64 of the Handbook of Latin American Studies. The database includes citations for books, journal articles, conference papers, and websites that pertain to the disciplines covered by HLAS. For Humanities, coverage includes: Art, History, Literature, Music, and Philosophy. For Social Sciences, coverage includes Archeology, Ethnology, Economics, Geography, Government and Politics, International Relations, Political Economy, and Sociology. All citations that appear in an HLAS print volume contain scholarly annotations written by subject specialists. The database is updated instantaneously, although records for volumes 62 onward are in a preliminary editorial stage.

Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition provides nearly 600 scholarly full text journals focusing on many medical disciplines. Health Source: Nursing/Academic Edition also features abstracts and indexing for nearly 650 journals. This database is updated on a  daily basis.

Hispanic American Periodicals Index contains article citations from more than 400 scholarly journals published in Latin America or addressing Latin American and U.S. Hispanic topics. Coverage begins in 1970, and the database is updated annually with about 9,000 new records each year.

Historic and Archival Images (world accessible)
This collection includes 300 photographs of the Wright family and of the Wrights' flying exhibitions in Europe and the United States. The collection provides thorough coverage of the Wrights' early inventive period documenting their early gliders and flight testing in both North Carolina and Ohio.

Historical Abstracts provides historical coverage of the world from 1450 to the present (excluding the United States and Canada). The coverage from approximately 2,000 journals is from 1969 to present. The publisher, ABC-CLIO, is planning online access to pre 1969 citations in the near future.

History of Science, Technology and Medicine incorporates Isis Current Bibliography of the History of Science, the Current Bibliography in the History of Technology, and the Bibliografia Italiana di Storia dells Scienza. Citations reflect the contents of more than 1,000 journals, and partial contents of several hundred more. Coverage is from 1976 to date. The database is updated annually, adding about 9,500 reords each year.

In the First Person is a landmark index to English language personal narratives, including letters, diaries, memoirs, autobiographies, and oral histories. Working with archives, repositories, publishers, and individuals the database has indexed first person narratives from hundreds of published volumes—those that are publicly available on the Web and those that are held by repositories and archives around the world. The intent is to make it possible to find and explore the voices of more than 300,000 individuals.

Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals is a multilingual index to articles and book reviews published worldwide. Also analyzed are the contents of legal essays, festschrifts, melanges, and congress reports. The Index to Foreign Legal Periodicals covers international (public and private), comparative, and municipal law of countries other than the United States, the U.K., Canada, and Australia. With coverage from 1985 to the present, the Index is updated quarterly.

Index to Hispanic Legislation (World Law Index, Part 1) describes the national laws, decrees, decree-laws, and regulations of the Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking nations of Latin America plus Haiti, Brazil, the Philippines, Portugal, Spain, and nations from the Portuguese-African region. Over 40 nations are represented. Subject coverage is comprehensive, from 1976 through 1997, with more than 60,000 records.

Index to Nineteenth-Century American Art Periodicals is the only online index to art periodicals that were published in the United States during the 19th century. The journals indexed represent a nearly complete coverage of art journals from this period. Since entire journal contents are indexed — articles, art notes, illustrations, stories, poems, and advertisements — the index is a valuable source of information on popular culture and industry, as well as artists and illustrators, painting, sculpture, drawing, photography, architecture and design, exhibitions and sales, decoration, and collecting. Insurance Periodicals Index (IPI), formerly produced by the NILS Publishing Co., Inc. in cooperation with the Insurance & Employee Benefits Division (IEBD) of the Special Libraries Association (SLA), indexes and abstracts over 200 of the most respected and widely-read insurance industry journals and magazines, including the Journal of Risk and Insurance, and the Journal of Risk and Uncertainty. IPI serves as a valuable addition to EBSCO's business coverage, and will interest researchers in economics, social scientists, and insurance and government organizations. Coverage dates as far back as 1965 and features a controlled vocabulary of index terms which reflect current industry terminology.

I.S.I. (Institute for Scientific Information ) Citation Database is the combined title for Arts and Humanities Citation Index, Science Citation Index Expanded and Social Sciences Citation Index. These citation databases are also know as the Web of Science.  The Web of Science is a subset of the I.S.I Web of Knowledge. ISI Citation Databases are multidisciplinary databases of bibliographic information gathered from thousands of scholarly journals. It is indexed so that you can search for specific articles by subject, author, journal, and/or author address. Because the information stored about each article includes the article's cited reference list (often called its bibliography), you can also search the databases for articles that cite a known author or work.

International Bibliography of Theatre and Dance is an index to journal articles, books, book articles and dissertation abstracts on all aspects of theatre and performance. IBTD is a multicultural and inter-disciplinary research tool for theater students, educators and professionals. IBTD was initiated by the American Society for Theatre Research. Since 1984, the Theatre Research Data Center (TRDC) at Brooklyn College has published 14 volumes of the IBTD. These volumes comprise a fully indexed, cross-referenced and annotated databank of journal articles, books, book articles and dissertation abstracts on all aspects of theatre and performance in 126 countries. TRDC will continue indexing various titles for the database as well as coordinating international contributors. IBTD is available to OhioLINK users through 2006 as a one-year trial

International Political Science Abstracts (IPSA), produced by the International Political Science Association, includes current indexing and abstracts of the world's leading journals in political science. This database contains over 110,000 records from nearly 900 journals published from 1989 to the present. Approximately 8,000 new records are added to the database each year.

Inter-Play provides access to the locations of printed plays in collections, anthologies and periodicals. Most of the plays cited are not indexed in the standard printed play indexes such as Ottemiller's Index to Plays in Collections or H. W. Wilson's Play Index. For plays by the most familiar authors (e.g. Shakespeare), you should also consult your local library's catalog. Approximately 16,130 locations are currently cited to plays in many languages. Separately-published plays are not included as these may also be located through local library catalogs. Inter-Play is updated frequently in order to include recent publications.

JSTOR (Journal Storage Project) assists academic libraries in archiving and preserving major scholarly journals. The JSTOR project provides complete electronic backfiles of core journals in a variety of subjects. Full text coverage begins at the first issue of each journal and usually ends within five years of the present. Recently published issues are not available. Disciplines include anthropology, Asian studies, ecology, economics, education, finance, history, mathematics, philosophy, political science, population studies, and sociology. You may search the entire database, search selected journals, or browse journal tables-of -contents.

The Lexi-PALS Drug Guide is a database of Patient Advisory Leaflets from Lexi-Comp that provides vital education on medications for patients. The approach for each pamphlet is to present each medication in an easy to follow and understand question-and-answer format. The database consists of over 1,450 medication and natural product leaflets, with an additional 600 Spanish language leaflets representing the most subscribed and commonly used medications.

Math/Sci/Net provides access to Mathematical Reviews and Current Mathematical Publications beginning in 1940 and continuing to the present. Mathematical Reviews provides timely reviews or summaries of articles and books that contain new contributions to mathematical research. MR covers articles and books in applied areas that contain new mathematical results or give novel and interesting applications of known mathematics. The full text of all reviews from 1940 to the present is and items listed in the annual indexes of Mathematical Reviews but not given an individual review are also included. Current Mathematical Publications is a subject index of bibliographic data for recent and forthcoming publications. Most items are later reviewed in Mathematical Reviews. MedicLatina is a Spanish language collection of medical research and investigative journals published by renowned Latin American medical publishers. This unique database provides access to full text for nearly 100 peer-reviewed medical journals in native Spanish. MEDLINE 1950-1965 (oldmedline) contains citations to articles from international biomedical journals covering the fields of medicine, preclinical sciences, and allied health sciences. The citations were originally printed in hardcopy indexes published from 1953 through 1965. OLDMEDLINE contains only journal article citations. provides full text from over 140 popular middle school magazines. In addition to the full text, this database offers indexing and abstracts for over 170 magazines. Full text is also available for biographies, historical essays and student pamphlets.

MLA Directory of Periodicals, produced by the Modern Language Association of America, lists over 4400 periodicals in the areas of literature, language, linguistics, and folklore that are covered regularly in the MLA International Bibliography. The directory provides addresses, advertising rates, and information about submissions for publication.

MLA International Bibliography provides a classified listing and subject index for books and articles published on modern languages, literatures, folklore, and linguistics. In annually indexes more that 45,000 books and articles. A product of the Modern Language Association of America, the database covers 1963 to the present and is updated ten times each year.

Naxos Music Library is  a comprehensive collection of classical music available online. It includes over 85,000 tracks, including Classical music, Jazz, World, Folk and Chinese music. NIAAA -- ETOH Database is the most comprehensive online bibliographic database containing over 100,000 records on alcohol abuse and alcoholism. ETOH is updated monthly and contains research findings from the late 1960s to the present, as well as historical research literature.

The National Criminal Justice Reference Service (NCJRS) is one of the most extensive sources of information on criminal and juvenile justice in the world, providing services to an international community of policymakers and professionals. NCJRS is a collection of clearinghouses supporting all bureaus of the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of Justice Programs: the National Institute of Justice, the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, the Bureau of Justice Statistics, the Bureau of Justice Assistance, the Office for Victims of Crime, and the OJP Program Offices. New Testament Abstracts is a product of a partnership between ATLA and the Weston Jesuit School of Theology. Official Documents of the United Nations (ODS) covers all types of official United Nations documentation, beginning in 1993. Older UN documents are added on a daily basis. Old Testament Abstracts is a product of a partnership between ATLA and the Catholic Biblical Association. The database features indexing and abstracts for journal articles, monographs, multi-author works, and software related to Old Testament studies. Abstracts from over 450 journals are included. All abstracts are in English, regardless of the language of the original work. Topics covered include antiquities, archaeology, biblical theology, philology and much more. Oxford English Dictionary is a historical dictionary of the English Language from the Middle Ages to the present. It lists all English words (about one million - over twice as many as any other dictionary) and defines their meanings at specific times in history, showing how meanings have changed over time. One of the Oxford English Dictionary's important features is the quotation that illustrates the use of the word and indicates the date it was first used in print.

Sanborn Maps are large scale street plans produced by the Sanborn Fire Insurance company from 1867 to 1970. Sanborn Maps show the outline of each building including the location of windows and doors together with street names, street and sidewalk widths, property boundaries, building use, and house and block numbers.

Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy (SEP) is a Web-based, dynamic reference work, designed to be responsive to new research. Toxline covers toxicological information from a diverse set of sixteen separate sources. With coverage from 1966 to the present, TOXLINE offers over 2 million bibliographic records with in-depth abstracts. The U.S. National Library of Medicine supplies the majority of the information on TOXLINE. It provides references to published material, as well as research in progress, on many topics such as: adverse drug reactions, air pollution, carcinogenesis via chemicals, drug toxicity, food contamination, occupational hazards, pesticides and herbicides, toxicological analysis, water treatment, and more. Women Writers Project is a long-term research project devoted to early modern women's writing and electronic text encoding.
