Continuous Learning I and II

In a commitment to partnering with our students to help them engage in meaningful learning experiences, Ashland University's MBA Program has incorporated the following seminars into the curriculum.

MBA 520 CONTINUOUS LEARNING I

Required as the first course of the MBA program

1 Credit Hour

This course introduces the student into the MBA program and explains the competency-based education they will receive during their academic career. This course is to be taken by all students during the first semester they are enrolled in the graduate program. In the initial meeting, the students will be introduced to the expectations and opportunities provided in the MBA program, engage in an assessment of their competencies, and develop an individualized "Learning Agenda," which will track their progress made in the program. A letter grade for the Learning Agenda Assignment will be recorded on the student's transcript.

Registration: Students may register for this seminar using the hard copy registration form included in the MBA schedule booklet. The cost of MBA 520 is $700. Class size is limited; therefore, students are encouraged to register early. Registrations received by the deadlines listed below will be accepted on a space-available basis.

Pre-Work: MBA 520 requires approximately 4 hours of pre-work
. Pre-work includes completing three online assessments (a writing sample, a leadership assessment, and a learning style inventory), a reading assignment, and a goal-setting questionnaire. Instructions for completing the pre-work will be e-mailed to students on or before the pre-work notification date listed below. It is each student’s responsibility to monitor his or her e-mail for the pre-work instructions. If no instructions are received by the end of the pre-work notification date, please check your SPAM folder and/or contact the MBA office at 1-888-MBA-CLAS the next business day. All pre-work must be completed by the pre-work deadline listed below. If a student drops MBA 520 after completing the pre-work, he or she will be charged $150 for the assessments unless the seminar is completed in the subsequent semester.
