International Students
Ashland University makes
a special commitment to serving the needs of international students.
The International Student
Services Office has been established to provide personal and
academic counseling and to assist in immigration concerns.
Also, the Ashland
University Center for English Studies (ACCESS) provides an intensive
English program for foreign students. With its low student-teacher ratio,
the Graduate Studies in Business Administration Program itself can ensure
personal attention to the individual needs of all students.
How to Apply
International students must apply for admission to the Master of Business
Administration Program well in advance of their proposed entry date. All
appropriate correspondence would be addressed to:
Director of International Student Services
Ashland University
401 College Avenue
Ashland, Ohio 44805
USA
To assure the most rapid consideration, we require complete information
including the following materials:
- The International Student MBA Application form with $50 application
fee.
-
The Declaration of Finances or affidavits of financial support for the
duration of study. (Please remember, Ashland University does not offer
financial aid to graduate students.)
-
Three recommendation letters.
-
Official transcripts reflecting successful completion of a bachelor's degree
program from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Proof of competency in English by completing the Test of English as a Foreign
Language (TOEFL) or the Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency.
The required TOEFL score is 550; the required minimum score for
the Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency is 85. Students
eligible for admission but who have not attained the minimum scores
on the TOEFL or on the Michigan Test of English Language Proficiency
may be admitted to the ACCESS Program. Advanced level students
can, with permission from the director of ACCESS, take academic
courses for credit on a part-time basis. Upon successful completion
of the ACCESS Program, students will be admitted to the University
for full-time academic study.
- Students holding degrees from schools outside of the United
States will be required to complete the MBA Foundations Program.
Students may attempt to proficiency the courses in the MBA Foundation;
if they are successful, these courses will be waived. Students
must first consult the director or assistant director before registering
for courses or arranging proficiency examinations.
