Ohio First Lady to Speak as part of Ashland Center for Nonviolence Symposium
The Ashland Center for Nonviolence’s spring symposium, “Creating a Caring Community in These Hard Times,” will feature a speech by Ohio’s First Lady, Francis Strickland. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held Feb. 2 at 7 p.m. in the Myers Convocation Center.
Francis Strickland, wife of Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland, will speak on “Our Shared Community: Hopes and Choices.”
As part of the program, Shelly Whalen, executive director for Community Mediation Services of Central Ohio, will also speak. She will address “Community Based Mediation, a Model for Resolving Disputes.”
CEUs in Social Work and in Counseling are available for those attending the event.
