Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery to Sponsor Free Monotype Workshop
Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery will be sponsoring a free Monotype Workshop that will be held on Saturday, July 31, from 9 a.m. to noon.
Guest artist EA Meuser from Kentucky and an Ohio native will be featured at the exhibition. Keith Dull, associate professor of art at Ashland University, also will be participating in the workshop. The workshop is being held in conjunction with the University’s Master of Fine Arts in Creative Writing Summer Program, which opens on Sunday, July 25.
The workshop will feature monotype printmaking techniques that are easy to learn and allow for creativity. Monotype printmaking is a painterly method. It creates one of a kind prints that have a unique translucency. The prints also produce an interesting quality of light.
All art materials will be provided and the workshop is free and open to the public for persons 16 and older. The event will be held in the Center for the Arts, Room 345. For registration and more information, call 419-289-5652 or email coburngallery@ashland.edu.
