Ashland University Chosen as “Best in the Midwest” College

Ashland University has been chosen as one of the 152 colleges named as “Best in the Midwest” for 2011 by the Princeton Review, the nationally known education services company. The list can be found at PrincetonReview.com.

To determine the 152 “Best in the Midwest” colleges, The Princeton Review analyzed colleges and universities in Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, South Dakota and Wisconsin.

Princeton Review logo“From hundreds of institutions we reviewed in each region, we selected these colleges and universities primarily for their excellent academic programs. We also took into account what students attending the schools reported to us about their campus experiences at them on our student survey,” said Robert Franek, senior vice president and publisher of The Princeton Review. “Our ‘regional best’ colleges constitute only 25 percent of the nation's four-year colleges – a select group, indeed. We believe our choices offer applicants and their parents a wide range of fine schools to consider. We hope your school's inclusion on our list sends many outstanding applicants your way.”

Ashland University Provost Dr. Frank Pettigrew was pleased with the University’s selection, which marks the seventh straight year Ashland has made the Princeton Review’s “Best in the Midwest” list.

“This is great national recognition for Ashland University and the selection reaffirms Ashland University’s commitment to the educational opportunities and experiences for our students,” Pettigrew said.

Ashland University (www.ashland.edu) is a mid-sized, private university conveniently located a short distance from Akron, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. Ashland University values the individual student and offers a unique educational experience that combines the challenge of strong, applied academic programs with a faculty and staff who build nurturing relationships with their students.
