Internet Bandwidth

The provider contracted for additional Internet bandwidth has reported they are running behind schedule. We are working with them on temporary alternatives to increase our bandwidth in the near term and while at the same time keeping the process moving ahead for our permanent bandwidth connection. The challenge right now is the build out of the fiber between Wooster and Akron, which we will use for our bandwidth. Information Technology is working with others at Samaritan Hospital and the Ashland County-West Holmes Career Center to keep this moving ahead because we are all counting on this to be completed in short order. Locally, we are balancing our bandwidth demands between our two Internet connections but there will be times when the Internet is slow for high bandwidth applications like streaming video.
