Wimba to WebEx Migration

Following the purchase of Wimba (and direct competitor Elluminate) by BlackBoard and subsequent substantial licensing increases and support issues, the Instructional Technology Support Group (ITSG) embarked on a review of alternatives web conferencing systems. A WebEx pilot was completed in Spring 2011 with favorable feedback from faculty members. Ashland University is now licensed for WebEx and our license for Wimba will expire on June 30th. The ITSG team is reaching out to the faculty using Wimba to help move them to WebEx and will be reaching out to other faculty and administrators as the summer and fall semesters progress.
