What is the best free antivirus for my computer?
We are often asked which antivirus software is recommended for personal (not Ashland University owned) computers and if the free antivirus software is comparable with the commercial antivirus packages from Norton, McAfee and Trend. For answers to these questions we often turn to CNET (www.cnet.com) for their reviews and lab tests of these software packages. In recent tests both Avast and AVG were rated very high and can be downloaded from the CNET site at the links below. Please read the reviews to see which best meets your needs (the last link addressed Macs specifically).
