Ashland University Slates President’s Convocation

9/4/12 ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University invites area residents to attend the annual President’s Convocation on Sunday, Sept. 16. The event, which is free and open to the public, will be held at 4 p.m. in the University’s Jack and Deb Miller Chapel, located on the corner of King Road and College Avenue.

President Dr. Fred FinksWith faculty adorned in academic regalia, the event will feature an address by Ashland University President Dr. Frederick Finks. His address is titled “Witches, Wardrobe and Wonderment.”

The University Choir, under the direction of Dr. Rowland Blackley, professor of music, will perform the anthem “True Light” by Keith Hampton and join the congregation for two hymns, “All Creatures of Our God and King” and “O How Glorious, Full of Wonder.”

Dr. Dan Lawson, dean of religious life, will extend a welcome and deliver the scripture reading and benediction, while Provost Dr. Frank Pettigrew will deliver the invocation and provide the speaker introduction. Dr. Timothy Guenther, university organist, will provide the opening and closing voluntaries.
