Ashland University to Hold Select Screening of ‘Restless Heart’

10/5/12 ASHLAND, Ohio -- A select screening of “Restless Heart,” a feature film about the famous theologian St. Augustine of Hippo, will be shown at Ashland University on Nov. 5 at 7 p.m. in the Jack and Deb Miller Memorial Chapel.

One of only 25 screenings currently scheduled across the country, this event is sponsored by Catholic Campus Ministry-The Newman Community of Ashland University, The Center of Religious Life, The Religion and Philosophy departments, The Philosophy Club and Phi Sigma Tau.

The $20 million movie was directed by Christian Duguay. It stars Alessandro Preziosi as Augustine.

“It is our hope that bringing this movie to the Ashland University campus will give us a deeper insight into one of the most prominent figures of our faith, regardless of denomination or faith background,” said Nate Addington, Catholic campus minister at Ashland University. “In the end, the story of Augustine is one of hope for those who sometimes see the work of God as reserved only for the ‘holy’ or ‘sinless.’”

All students, faculty and staff will be admitted free of charge with their Ashland University ID. General admission for the public is $5 and will be available at the door.

Prior to the movie, a short lecture on the importance of Augustine will be presented by Dr. David Aune, associate professor of religion and chair of the religion department, and Dr. Louis Mancha, associate professor of philosophy. The event will be hosted by Addington.

Additional information on the film can be found at http://restlessheartfilm.com or by contacting Addington at naddingt@ashland.edu.

Ashland University, ranked in the top 200 colleges and universities in U.S. News and World Report’s National Universities category for 2013, is a mid-sized, private university conveniently located a short distance from Akron, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. Ashland University (www.ashland.edu) values the individual student and offers a unique educational experience that combines the challenge of strong, applied academic programs with a faculty and staff who build nurturing relationships with their students.###
