Ashland University Alumni Business Chosen As 'Best Chocolatier'

Tre Sorelle Cioccolato, a business operated by two Ashland University alumnae, has been chosen by Lake Erie Living Magazine as “Best Chocolatier.” Tre Sorelle is owned and operated by Jan Beck, who received a bachelor of science in business administration from Ashland University in 1983 and Judith Beck Horchler, who received her doctorate in education degree from Ashland in 2002. The two sisters are certified chocolatiers who began their business in November 2007.

In its first-ever “Best of Lake Erie” issue, Lake Erie Living magazine named Tre Sorelle Cioccolato as “Best Chocolatier.” The Sandusky store was chosen by the editors and readers of Lake Erie Living. The competition was formidable as the magazine serves readers all around Lake Erie, including Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York and Ontario Canada.

Tre Sorelle Cioccolato is a premium chocolate shop, which handcrafts delicious confections in their chocolate kitchen. The shop specializes in truffles and filled chocolates, many using local wine as an ingredient. The fillings for all the confections are made from scratch and do not have added preservatives.

At their shop, there are a wide variety of traditional and specialty chocolates available year-round. Seasonally the store makes special flavors which capture the tastes and traditions of each particular time of year.

Customers may attend classes held each month or book a private class for a group or organization. Private chocolate classes are a unique party idea for a child’s birthday or for adults who are kids at heart! Weddings, showers and business events are made memorable with custom favors and gifts.

Because Tre Sorelle makes all their own products, they can work with individuals to come up with photos or logo chocolates that reflect the personality of the people or the company. Tre Sorelle is Sandusky’s only chocolate kitchen and is proud to provide chocolates which are fresh, handcrafted and tantalizing!

Tre Sorelle Cioccolato is located at 634 Columbus Avenue in Sandusky, Ohio, and is open Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Hours are extended and Sunday hours are added during major holidays. Visit the store’s website www.tresorelleonline.com for online ordering options.

Ashland University, ranked in the top 200 colleges and universities in U.S. News and World Report’s National Universities category for 2013, is a mid-sized, private university conveniently located a short distance from Akron, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. Ashland University (www.ashland.edu) values the individual student and offers a unique educational experience that combines the challenge of strong, applied academic programs with a faculty and staff who build nurturing relationships with their students. ###
