Microsoft Corp. no longer supports the Windows XP operating system and is no longer supplying those every important security updates. The Office of Information Technology has updated all classrooms/labs to Windows 7 along with the following Regional Centers: Cleveland, Stark, Columbus, Medina, and Detroit. It is important that the Ashland University computing environment remain current with software patches and security updates in order protect our systems from viruses and spyware. The only way to do this is to continue moving all systems to the Windows 7 operating system thus we are requiring all PCs and Laptops to be moved to Windows 7 by March 31st, 2013. Please call the TSC at ext. 5405 or 866.434.5222 or put a service ticket in at kbox.it.ashland.edu. Things to be aware of when upgrading to Windows 7:
- If you are currently using Adobe Professional version 9 or earlier you will need to upgrade to Adobe Professional version 10 (approximately $70 each)
- If you are using a local printer that is more than 4 years old it is probably not Windows 7 compatible
