Ashland University Posts 2012 Electronic Christmas Card

12/3/12 ASHLAND, Ohio - Millions of people across the globe have captured the Christmas spirit thanks to the electronic Christmas cards that have been distributed by Ashland University since 2001. Every year, Ashland University releases a holiday e-card to all of its students, faculty and staff, alumni, friends and the larger community around the world.

To access this year’s card, go to http://ecard.ashland.edu/. The cards from the previous years also are available through that link by clicking on the View Gallery option.

This year’s theme revolves around Ashland University's mascot, Tuffy the Eagle, who is decorating a tree inside the Gill Welcome Center for the holidays, but needs help from the Ashland University students.

Tuffy travels across campus, stopping at some of the most well-known locations, to gather decorations and gifts. Once his tree is fully decorated, he then welcomes all of the students back to Gill Welcome Center to see his creation, but someone very important is missing. Find out who it is in the 2012 Christmas E-Card - "An Ashland University Christmas Story."

This video was shot and edited by Tim Hawk, a Journalism & Digital Media senior at Ashland University. Actors were provided by several organizations on campus including the Honors Program, Campus Activities Board, the International Program, Athletics and Greek Life. The video stars Austin Arnold, a senior theatre major, as well as Kris Kennedy, marketing coordinator for Ashland University, as Tuffy. The Ashland University Communication and Marketing Department thanks all of the volunteers in this year's video for their dedication and we wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

The Ashland University cards continue to circulate the world every Christmas season so millions of people across the globe continue to say ‘Merry Christmas’ through Ashland University’s electronic cards.

Ashland University, ranked in the top 200 colleges and universities in U.S. News and World Report’s National Universities category for 2013, is a mid-sized, private university conveniently located a short distance from Akron, Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio. Ashland University (www.ashland.edu) values the individual student and offers a unique educational experience that combines the challenge of strong, applied academic programs with a faculty and staff who build nurturing relationships with their students.
