Ashland University Senior Receives Scholarship

4/8/13 ASHLAND, Ohio -- Ashland University senior Lindsay Cameron, an integrated language arts major, has been named winner of Sigma Tau Delta’s Senior Scholarship and will receive an award in the amount of $4,000.

Lindsay CameronCameron, who is the daughter of Shawn and Pamela Cameron of Warren, was one of two recipients of the senior scholarship. She is a 2009 graduate of Southington-Chalker High School.

“I am very pleased to have an opportunity to applaud and recognize your work,” said Dr. John Kerrigan, chair of the Scholarship and Academic Awards Committee for Sigma Tau Delta in a communication to Cameron. “Among the 64 very fine applications we received for the Senior Scholarship this year, yours certainly stood out.”

Kerrigan noted that Cameron was chosen by the Sigma Tau Delta Scholarship Committee from a total of 252 applications for all of the spring scholarships.

“On behalf of our organization, I congratulate you on excellence in your academic endeavors and in your fine contributions via activities and service on your campus, in your community and in your work with your local Sigma Tau Delta chapter,” Kerrigan noted.

Sigma Tau Delta is an international honor society of students majoring in English who have achieved at least a 3.0 grade point average in the study of English. The honorary promotes worthwhile reading of literary masterpieces and fosters a spirit of fellowship among its new initiates who share the motto Sincerity, Truth, Design.
