  • Ashland University to Hold ‘Eagle Nation Celebration’ at Stadium

    4/10/13 ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University will hold an “Eagle Nation Celebration” that will honor the 2013 women’s basketball team that won the Division II national championship as well as the All-Americas, national qualifiers and national champions in a number of other Ashland University sports.

    The celebration is scheduled for Thursday, April 18, at 7 p.m. at Jack Miller Stadium inside the Dwight Schar Athletic Complex off Broad Street.

  • Three AU Students Win Awards at Ohio National Association of Teachers of Singing

     4/9/13 ASHLAND, Ohio - Three Ashland University students were award winners at the Ohio National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS) competition that was held April 6 at Kent State University.

    The competition featured more than 300 performers and their voice teachers and all participating students performed before judges and received comments regarding their singing. Ashland University’s name was called out three times at the awards presentation.

  • Ashland University Senior Receives Scholarship

    4/8/13 ASHLAND, Ohio -- Ashland University senior Lindsay Cameron, an integrated language arts major, has been named winner of Sigma Tau Delta’s Senior Scholarship and will receive an award in the amount of $4,000.

    Lindsay CameronCameron, who is the daughter of Shawn and Pamela Cameron of Warren, was one of two recipients of the senior scholarship. She is a 2009 graduate of Southington-Chalker High School.

  • Ashland University To Perform Brahms’ Requiem

    4/8/13 ASHLAND, Ohio - The Department of Music at Ashland University will present the choral and orchestral masterpiece by the beloved romantic composer Johannes Brahms. Directed by Dr. Rowland Blackley, the Brahms’ “German Requiem” will be performed by the Ashland University Choir, Ashland Area Chorus and Ashland Chamber Orchestra on Saturday, April 27, at 7:30 p.m. in Hugo Young Theatre.

  • Ashland University First in Latest Learfield Cup Standings

    4/4/13 ASHLAND, Ohio - For the first time in school history, Ashland University is ranked first in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings.

    After the completion of six winter championships, the Eagles lead the nation with 589 points. Ashland University won a national championship in women’s basketball, was second in men’s track and field, fifth in women’s track and field, 12th in women’s swimming and diving, 15th in wrestling and 22nd in men’s swimming and diving.

  • Ashland University Student Receives Summer Research Internship at Michigan State

    4/4/13 - ASHLAND, Ohio - Josh Allman of Pataskala, OH, was one of 15 undergraduate students chosen nationwide to take part in a summer research internship at Michigan State this coming summer. Allman, who is a 2010 graduate of Watkins Memorial High School, is majoring in biotechnology at Ashland University.

  • Ashbrook Center to Host Colloquium with Ted Roosevelt Malloch

    4/4/13 ASHLAND, Ohio – The Ashbrook Center at Ashland University will host an April 26 colloquium titled “America’s Spiritual Capital.” The colloquium will be led by Ted Roosevelt Malloch, who serves as research professor for the Spiritual Capital Initiative at Yale University.

  • University Offers Two Fun Evenings of Opera Scenes

    4/3/13 ASHLAND, Ohio - Ashland University Department of Music presents two evenings of "Magic, Marriage & Merriment" with opera scenes from “Mikado to The Pirates of Penzance” and “The Most Happy Fella.” The performances, which are free and open to the public, are scheduled for Friday and Saturday, April 19 and 20, at 7:30 p.m. in the Elizabeth Pastor Recital Hall.

  • Drop of a Hat Players Present Annual Showcase Performance

    4/3/13 ASHLAND, Ohio - Ashland University Theatre’s Drop of a Hat Players, a musical theatre revue troupe, presents its 2013 Spring Showcase on Saturday, April 13, at 2 p.m. in the Hugo Young Theatre in the Center for the Arts. Although the performance is free and open to the public, audience members are encouraged to reserve a free ticket through the Ashland University box office to guarantee a seat. The box office is open 12 to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and can be reached at 419.289.5125.

  • Ashland University Sets ‘Art Saturday’ Event

    4/3/13 ASHLAND, Ohio - Ashland University’s Coburn Gallery and Art Club have established “Art Saturdays,” an educational and creative experience for children, and the next “Art Saturdays” event will be held April 20 from 10 a.m. to noon in Room 346 in the Center for the Arts on the Ashland University campus.

    The April 20 class is for children ages 7 through 13, and will feature painting and surrealism-moustache fun. The art fee will be $10.
