Ashland University to Hold Christian Concert March 30
The Ashland University Center of Religious Life will be sponsoring a spring concert that will feature Christian rock band Tenth Avenue North and opening group Rend Collective Experiment. The concert will be held on March 30 at 7 p.m. in Hugo Young Theatre, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m.
Tenth Avenue North has six Dove Award nominations and was named New Artist of the Year in 2009 and had the top Song of the Year in 2010.
Ashland University Presents The Acting Company, and Their National Tour Of William Shakespeare's ‘The Comedy of Errors’
The Ashland University Spectrum Series presents the final performance of its 2011-2012 season with The Acting Company, in association with the Guthrie Theatre, featuring its production of “The Comedy of Errors,” one of William Shakespeare's most delightful comedies, on Wednesday, March 14, at 7:30 p.m., in Hugo Young Theatre.
For its 39th annual tour, The Acting Company started performances in January at the Guthrie in Minneapolis and is traveling to 31 communities in 21 states plus Ontario, Canada.
Ashland University’s Career Services Center hosted its annual spring Job and Internship Fair in Myers Convocation Center on Feb. 22.
Approximately 55 organizations attended the event, including recruiters representing the Auditor of State, the Cleveland Cavaliers, DEA–Drug Enforcement Agency, Diebold, The J. M. Smucker Company, MedCentral Health Systems, Target Corporation, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Services. Ashland University Faculty Members Receive Promotions, Tenure
A number of Ashland University faculty members have received promotions and/or tenure following the action of the Ashland University Board of Trustees. The promotions are to take effect on July 1, the beginning of the institution’s 2012-2013 academic year.
Grant Awarded For Ashland University's Marionette Presentations
The Ashland University Spectrum Series was recently awarded a grant from the Pennsylvania Performing Artists on Tour (PennPat) to support its upcoming presentations by THE CASHORE MARIONETTES. Featuring a school matinee performance, a master class and evening public performance on Tuesday, Feb. 28, this project is partially supported by PennPat, a program developed and funded by The Heinz Endowments; the William Penn Foundation; the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, a state agency; and The Pew Charitable Trusts; and administered by Mid Atlantic Arts Foundation.
Ashland University Approves Record Low Tuition Increase
At its meeting on Jan. 27, the Ashland University Board of Trustees approved the lowest increase in tuition, room and board costs on record at Ashland University. The board approved a total of 1.1 percent increase in Ashland University tuition, room and board fees for the coming 2012-2013 academic year.
Ashland University College of Nursing Sponsors Cultural Competencies Conference
The Ashland University Dwight Schar College of Nursing is sponsoring a conference titled “Developing Cultural Competencies: A Life-long Journey for Nurses” to be held Friday, Feb. 17, at 1:30 p.m. in Redwood Hall on the Ashland University campus.
RELEASED Nov. 18, 2011/ASHLAND, Ohio -- Congratulations to the Ashland University Men's Rugby Club for winning its first Ohio Rugby Division III State Championship. The Men's Rugby Club defeated division rival John Carroll University 27-8, securing an undefeated season.
Ashland University Launches New Television Station on Armstrong Cable
Ashland University’s Journalism and Digital Media Department has been transformed in the past two years and the department’s work will be showcased on a new 24-7 television station on the Armstrong Cable system.
The department has launched Ashland University TV-20, which is Channel 20 on the Armstrong Cable system. The new channel is located between C-Span and CNN.
