What's Happening at Ashland University

“I believe a great mental game is what separates the elite baseball players from the rest,” according to Dr. Curt Ickes, clinical and sport psychologist and Ashland University associate professor of psychology.

Dr. Jane Piirto, trustees’ distinguished professor in the Dwight Schar College of Education at Ashland University, has been selected as the 2010 NAGC Distinguished Scholar by the National Association for Gifted Children (NAGC). The Distinguished Scholar award is the NAGC’s highest honor.

ASHLAND, Ohio – Ashland University claims as one of its aspirations to be one of the leading private comprehensive universities in the Midwest. Now, after receiving scores from the Collegiate Learning Assessment Test (CLA), it can point to measurable evidence for progress in that direction.

The Center for Community Service at Ashland University has scheduled a number of events for students as well as faculty and staff members as part of its “Calling All Volunteers” Community Service Week Oct. 23-30.

The week of special events begins on Make-A-Difference Day, Saturday, Oct. 23. Students will be assisting with a variety of projects throughout the community, including leaf raking for senior citizens.
